About Anant Krishna Kelkar High School
Anant Krishna Kelkar High School, Wade–Devgad, was founded in 1955 through the vision of devoted educationists such as Shri Dikshit Guruji and Shri Raobahadurji Achrekar, with generous support from donors including Shri Jagannath Anant Kelkar and Shri Arvindbhai Mafatlal.
Originally established as a secondary school, it was renamed in 1958 in honour of Anant Krishna Kelkar, ushering in a proud legacy of learning under the aegis of the Devgad Education Board.
Today, the school offers classes from V to X in Marathi and Semi-English mediums, serving over 300 students from Wade and neighbouring villages. Recognized as a board examination centre, it also hosts a wide range of academic and cultural competitions, from scholarship exams and subject contests to Sanskrit Bhagavad Gita recitation.
Beyond academics, creativity thrives through the Painting and Drawing Department and the Kala Bharati fine arts wing, which trains students in singing, instrumental music, and performing arts. These cultural programs complement modern initiatives in computer education and science enrichment, ensuring a well rounded learning experience.
Looking ahead, the school is committed to introducing courses in robotics, artificial intelligence, and skill development, equipping students with future ready knowledge and abilities. This journey continues to be strengthened by the steadfast support of alumni, villagers, and donors, whose contributions have sustained the institution and will guide its progress into the future.

Activities
Robotics:AI
Starting in the 2026–27 academic year, Anant Krishna Kelkar High School Wada is launching a “Robotics AI” initiative to introduce students to advanced technologies.
Jointly organized by the Devgad Education Board Mumbai , Wada committee and mentored by Garud Tech, the curriculum covers:
Robotics: Design and development tracking.
Intelligence: Core Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Coding: Programming languages including C, C++, and Python.
Automation: Smart technology and automated systems.
The program delivers practical tech exposure to build creativity, scientific thinking, and future-ready technical skills.
This initiative has been made possible through the generous donation of Rs 1.5 lakhs by Shri. Salim Jafarkhan.
Kaushalyavikas
Anant Krishna Kelkar High School, Wada has launched a Skill Development Program that combines practical vocational training with regular school education, making learning more career oriented and relevant for rural students.
The program focuses on bridging the gap between traditional education and real life skills, enhancing employability, entrepreneurship, confidence, and reducing school dropout rates.

Kalabharati
Kalabharati Hall at Anant Krishna Kelkar High School, Wada, was established to provide students with fine arts education. Created through the initiative of School Committee President Mr. Harshad Joshi and supported by the generous contribution of Dr. Prasad Devdhar, President of Bhagirath Pratishthan, Zharap, the hall was inaugurated on 26 November 2025 in the presence of Dr. Devdhar, renowned vocalist Mrs. Anita Agashe, and Mr. Niranjan Dixit, President of the Dixit Foundation.
Highlights
Since its inception, the Kalabharati Department has introduced several impactful initiatives:
Akashvani Ratnagiri Broadcast – Selected students presented a musical program aired on Akashvani Ratnagiri.
“Udhalit Shatakirana” Workshop – A music workshop led by eminent musicologist Dr. Sheetal Dharmadhikari, offering training in group singing and foundational musical concepts to students, local residents, and enthusiasts.
Bal Sanskar Camp (23–30 April 2026) – A unique initiative providing free guidance on self‑defense, hymn recitation, arts, and personality development to students from the school and neighboring institutions.
School Program Participation – Kalabharati students regularly perform welcome songs and devotional invocations during school functions.
